Can MS Students at IIT Madras balance hectic research with extracurriculars?

Certainly! MS Students at IIT Madras are advantaged in that regard in particular. Since the MS program at IIT Madras is self-paced, with students completing the degree in 18-30 months, students can focus on extracurricular activities as well. Furthermore, the MS program is more research-oriented, meaning enrolled students only have to take around five courses throughout the duration of the program. The courses they choose (in consultation with their guides) are inclined to their research areas. The focus on research work rather than coursework helps students balance their lives better, leaving time for whatever the student wishes to pursue!
